Carlos Sá!
Carlos Sá, a trail-running name that needs no lengthy introduction. With numerous wins and podium finishes at national level in 2010, his name is catapulted thanks to the victory in the Grand Raid des Pyrénées - 160 km's (FRA), and in 2011, reaches a dramatically 5th. place overall in the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc (170km). Carlos Sa, which debuts in MIUT, 'see' the race like this:
"The MIUT or Madeira Island Ultra Trail comes in 2012 with a full crossing of the fantastic island of Madeira, with a route that is over 100km and considerable unevenness, a unique opportunity to meet mountainous corner of this natural paradise and a way to prepare one of my major goals this season, the 170km of UTMB.
I've got a special taste to overcome, but do not let myself get too much competitiveness, so the results are always in second place, the pleasure of running in the nature, discover places of dream and share these moments with friends is the main reason that leads me to participate in Trail-Running races. "
